A: Americraft began responsibly manufacturing heirloom quality, stainless steel cookware in 2004. The owner is the son of one of the most successful West Bend Cookware distributors and he grew up in the industry. He developed his own successful distributorship and eventually decided to build a plant when the future of the Original West Bend Company seemed a little questionable. It was just in time as the West Bend Company was sold and dissolved. Americraft benefited in that we were able to offer employment to many of the men and women who had been let go due to the company acquisition. We believe that in a way, the traditions live on.
A: Cookware is all we do so it is our only product sold. However, the most popular purchase is a full set of our “classic” line which has a more traditional feel and is marketed in a direct sales atmosphere. We also have a retail line (360 Cookware) and its most popular piece is the 3.5 Quart Sauté Pan which is absolutely our most versatile piece, a must-have for any kitchen. We manufacture for other private labels as well.
Q: Why manufacture in America?
A: The owner/president of the company answered this very question from his eight year old son:
“I make our cookware in America because the quality we demand can only be found in America by American artisans, craftsmen and craftswomen. People that don’t need a time clock and are truly masters of their trade. I care about the people that care about the product they make and I’ll provide them with jobs for the remainder of my time. I told him how I could make an additional 60% profit if I made our product in another country which I translated into 8-year-old terms by saying, “It would be a lot more money but money isn’t what’s important to me. American jobs and American quality are important to me.”
Q: Where are you located?
Q: Favorite customer review?
A: Finding our “favorite” customer review is tough. They are all extremely important to us. Here’s one that I thought was most relevant to this topic:
“Dear Americraft, Keep up the good work! Not too many American companies around anymore. Your company and your product is the very heart and soul of what this great country and what business used to stand for. I pray that this country gets back on track and stays on track like your great company has managed to do through all of these years. God Bless your company and your employees.” – Bill Mentzel
Q: Where can readers purchase your product?
A: Our “classic” line can be purchased at more than 1,000 trade shows, expos and fairs across the United States each year and our retail line is available for purchase online at www.360Cookware.com.
