Q: At what point did you realize that you could pull off being a Kate Middleton impersonator?
A: I never really thought I could pull off being a Kate Middleton impersonator, nor do I think I can pull it off to this day…but I definitely will have fun with it and I am honored to be able to “play this role,” as Kate Middleton is such a classy, elegant down to earth lady.
I enjoy putting a smile on people’s faces who stop to talk to me and ask me about my resemblance, but I am always me, I do not live my daily life as trying to be Kate, I see it as more of a fun blessing. I’m also lucky and so is everyone else that she does not sing or dance!
Q: What type of events have you attended?
A: Honestly, as a small town farm girl I have kept my life pretty simple. I did the television show in Paris, France which was amazing. I have done a lot of radio, newspaper/magazine and interviews, and a red carpet, but the craziest of all would be riding a mule as the “princess”…I have to keep my country roots!
Q: What type of preparation does it require for you to become Kate?
A: Besides changing into an amazing wardrobe and letting my tan fade, there is nothing really out of the ordinary I do to become “Kate”. I have even been stopped about my Kate appearance when I run into town with no makeup after a day of working on the farm.
Q: Most embarrassing moment to occur in your life?
A: Oh boy…I don’t get embarrassed easily because I have a big sense of humor, but I would have to say that I have had a lot of embarrassing moments as I have been given the huge responsibility, as well as blessing in disguise, to care for my two and a half year old nephew and nine month old niece. I went from being a single lady that lives alone, to being a single mom overnight. I had to totally change my life overnight. And as anyone with children will realize, this is a huge learning curve!
Everywhere we would go for errands, grocery shopping or play at the park, I would try to act like I had it all together, calm cool and collected like I knew what I was doing, but my little nephew would be quick to let people know with a smile on his face “Auntys crazy”…..so yes, my precious two year old nephew could make me blush….
Q: What might readers find you doing when you are not portraying the Duchess of Cambridge?
A: I have a heart for children in need. I volunteer with an orphanage outside of Canada as well as a crisis center for children locally. I would like to get more involved in this issue locally as well as internationally. I enjoy ranching, horses and cattle. I also enjoy fashion, clothes and use some of my time helping at an awesome local clothing boutique in town. I love sports, but most of all hockey. I am hoping to do some more traveling for the next chapter of my life and get more involved in television, as well as learning about and helping out in different parts of the world.
Q: Best pick up line used on you so far?
A: I get the line “Can I be your prince?” I always respond, “I’m alright prince-less for now.”
